I saw this in Agriya but I didnt really notice a difference. Will this allow regular videos to be more clear or does the video file itself need to be filmed in HD?

3 Huge advantages using HD player H.264

1. HD player supports and plays (MP4, M4V, M4A, MOV, Mp4v, F4V, FLV) without the need for your server to encode the videos. A non HD player or your current flv player can only play FLV files, which means when a user uploads a video to your site in non FLV format, the system must first encode and convert the video to flv before it can be played. With HD player all these file formats (MP4, M4V, M4A, MOV, Mp4v, F4V, FLV) can be played in the player without the need for your system to encode the files to flv. When no encoding process taking place, 0% quality loss will take effect.

2. HD Video files H.264 uses the latest innovations in video compression technology to provide incredible video quality from the smallest amount of video data. This means you see crisp, clear video in much smaller file size, saving you bandwidth and storage costs over previous generations of video codecs. H.264 delivers the same quality as MPEG-2 at a third to half the data rate and up to four times the frame size of MPEG-4 Part 2 at the same data rate. What does all this means. You can create super high quality, smaller files sizes and faster streaming videos then FLV videos.

3. H.264 Videos Streams faster then FLV. HD videos also works on mobile phone. H.264 provides excellent performance at impressively low file size.

Almost all video capture programs support H.264 now, so users can easily create HD videos in any of the formats mentioned above.

As for all the flv videos that you already have on your site now, they will still play with the same quality as you currently have them since they were not HD file to begin with.

I'm working on a great HD player alot of features.
Hope this covers everything.

How will the watermark mod work with this? As you know the watermark works on all formats except flash, I have to encode the video twice to get the watermark to work on FLV. This is causing lots of upload problems.

Will the watermark work differently on the HD player?

Thanks

Watermark mod is irrelevant to the player you're using. Watermark works only when a video is being encoded from whatever format to flv format. The watermark reads the frames and add a permanent mark on the encoded videos. The reason it doesn't apply to flv files is because flv files do not get encoded since It doesn't make sense to encode flv to flv. That's why the system skips encoding flv files. Since the system does not encode flv files, No watermark is applied to them. Similarly HD files do not get encoded. The HD player plays HD formats directly without the need for the system to encode them to flv formats. Since no encoding takes place no watermark will apply. Watermark will still apply to all non hd or flv files such as avi, mpg, wmv.

That is the reason why youtube.com have there watermark on some of there videos and not all

The HD player will be released later this week. It will surely be the best player you layed your eyes on. Tons of features that is not available in any other player or video sharing site on the web. Many emailed and asked to see the work in progress and demo. I can't show you any demos until the player is 100% complete. The long wait is over, just few more days.

Hints
1. You will be able to Run Google Adsense and Google video ads directly inside the player and make money even when a user embeds your videos.
2. Send to friend, get Video Link and Embed Code available inside the player.
3. Playlist for related videos
4. Control embed player features.
5. Fully customizable player colors done via an admin area, also added a feature for usesr to choose color for the embedable player.
6. 100% HD and non HD support. (Support all the following formats MP4, M4V, M4A, MOV, Mp4v, F4V, FLV, 3GP, MP3
7. Client Statistics in Real Time. Track who's embedding your videos, track # of views for embedded videos and number of embeds per video.
8. You will also get Your own site copyright info on players right click menu.

This will be enough information for now to keep up the excitement. Full details will be posted when player is ready for sale.

Yes you definitely need convert your VOB files. VOB is a DVD format that cannot be played in any FLV or HD player. Besides VOB formats are huge in size (several Gigs). What you need to do is convert VOB file to MP4(h.264). Converting to MP4 using the h.264 codec will create an HD video file that the HD player can play.

I looked on the web and found this free software that Supports VOB conversions.

Dragon,

Changing colors is very simple and done via a user friendly admin interface. You can create as many color styles as you want and can easily switch between them.

Yes you can post watermark on the player. You can even control position (top right, bottom right, top left, bottom left)
When you embed video, player will be linked to your site. So if users click on the player screen while watching the video, it will take them to your site. Just as with youtube.

Question about HD format

Postby Dreadsen on Mon May 04, 2009 3:09 pm

Okay when someone downloads a video from youtube it's in FLV format. The HD Players can play in H.264 HD which you advertise as being almost half the size of FLV. So can the site encode FLV files to this H.264 HD format when uploading?

Flv files will remain flv. They will not get encoded. They will play directly in the HD player.

Another question. you do not have indexplayer option for this correct?

So can this player have the same size on the front page comparable to the indexplayer option for the purpose of playing introduction video while the other videos beneath it are regular thumbnail size?

Why do you need the This HD player on the index page. That's what the index player 2 mod is for.

The HD player is built to work with rayzz only. To make it work with other CMS system, we have to recode it. Email me and I'll provide you with a quote.
